This cross should produce some nice all around working, agility and companion dogs. Lark is excelling at working the farm, agility and rally. This cross brings more Hill dog working style and brains to the forefront. To me a Hill bred Border Collie - can problem solve and adjust as needed how they handle their sheep with little input from their handler, good work ethics, good instinct, good drive and has a nice open and wide outrun, but can work the pens, ewes with lambs and rams. Both Lark and Imp. Scot excel at these jobs.
Tamara states about Scot, "He has a more natural style and great feel for his sheep. Stays on his feet, not sticky and not grippy. He will grip when appropriate. Completely comfortable going in close and tight off fences in corners. I just worked him with Kathy Knox and she liked him a lot, he's very biddable, has a lovely pear shaped out run. His temperament is super solid, travels great, good with dogs and people. He s a really nice dog. I am really enjoying working with him."

Lark's went into labor around 10am on 6/11 and hard labor started at noon, but she wasn't consistently contracting so we headed up to our wonderful vets. They xrayed her to make sure everything looked good and gave her a shot of Oxytocin, which gave us Zachary at 9.5 oz. Then a final shot of Oxytocin gave us Fern at 13.5 oz.
The next generation of Eclps Border Collies were born.
Zachary was born at 3:51 pm and weighed 9.5 oz - he is a a dark tri with minimal white markings.
Fern was born at 5:43pm and weighed 13.5 ozs - she is lightly tri with only a dot of white for her collar and a little stripe for her blaze.
Zachary weighed 1# 7 ounces at 1 week.
Fern weighted 1# 6 oz at 1 week.
A cute mid-week Zachary photo. Danika is so in love with her baby boy.
Well I officially have a rear tripod puppy. I was greeted with her rear right foot being held on with just a piece of skin. So we clipped the skin, packed her stump with triple antibiotics, added a sterile bandage and wrapped her foot with vetwrap. We then called our Emergency Vet number and talked to them on what to do now. They stated as long as the stump is kept clean and wrapped, with the triple and Fern is still on antibiotics we should be good over the weekend. The icky smell is gone. She heads up Monday to get laser treatment on her stump and they will take a look at it
